- API 610 / Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas industries
석유화학에 적용되는 원심펌프를 규정한 것이나, 원심펌프 전반에 대한 Heavy duty design 에 대한 조건들이 명시되어 있어서, 많이 적용됩니다. 최근에는 유럽권의 영향력이 커짐에 따라 ISO 13709 와 그 내용을 비슷하게 맞추고 있으며, 흔히들 동등 Grade로 인정하지만, 석유화학에서는 아직도 API가 선호됩니다.

펌프의 구동기로 많이 사용하는 Steam turbine에 대한 규정으로 앞에 General이 붙은 것을 보면 알겠지만, 일반적으로 사용할 경우에 선정이 됩니다.

말 그대로 Special한 구조를 요구하는 것으로 Steam의 기준에 따라 나누기도 하지만, 중요한 Pump, 대부분 대용량의 펌프에 Steam turbine을 적용할 경우, 적용이 되어야 합니다.
- API 613 VS ISO 10816 / Special Purpose Gear Units for Petroleum, Chemical, And Gas Industry Services 본 규격은 Special Purpose Gear Unit의 Shot Test시 적용하는 진동 기준치가 언급되어 있으며, Shaft Axial Vibration 및 Bearing Housing 또는 Shaft에서의 Radial Vibration에 대한 진동 기준치를 제시하고 있다.
- API 614 / Lubrication, Shaft-sealing and Oil-control Systems and Auxiliaries
이것은 대용량의 펌프의 경우, Sliding bearing을 사용하게 되고, 이에 따라 Oil을 강제윤활을 시켜줘야 할 경우에 적용하는 규격으로서, API code중에서 Pump관련 Code, Seal관련 Code와 더불어 가장 많이 적용이 되는 Code입니다. ISO 10438 과는 동등 Grade로 취급하고 있습니다.

General purpose규정은 API 610 에 명시된 기준으로 보면 충분하며, 큰 동력의 경우에 이 Code를 적용하게 됩니다. ISO 10441과 동등 Garde로 분류됩니다.

API Code중 Pump와 더불어 가장 중요한 규격 중에 하나입니다. 실제 이 규격은 Dry Gas Seal을 포함하고 있어서, Mechanical seal에 대해서 알고 싶다면, 반드시 공부하고 넘어가야 할 Code입니다. ISO 21049 와 동등 Grade로 취급하고 있습니다.
